2024: Think of it this way: WE GOT NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP. Our state and our nation are barely recognizable. Together, we will make things better.

Fighting for Taxpayers for 26 years
I was born and raised in Yakima.
I’ve lived in Washington state all my life.
With Democrat domination after so many decades at all levels of state government (legislature, governor, courts), just look around and you’ll see what the result of that has done to individuals, families, local communities, and our state.
Like many of you, I don’t even recognize it anymore.
But together over the past 26 years, we have made things better thanks to our initiatives:
* Car tabs are dramatically lower than they used to be (used to be a 2.5% tax on the artificially inflated value of your vehicle — now, vehicle owners outside the Puget Sound pay $60-$100 per year and Puget Sound vehicle owners pay 2/3 less than they used to — 0.8%. It ain’t $30 but it’s a helluva lot better than it used to be.
* Property tax increases are 6 times smaller than they used to be. Prior to 2001, state government, counties, cities, and other local governments regularly jacked up property taxes 6% per year. Since 2001, each government has only been allowed to raise them 1% per year. Are property taxes still a problem? Of course they are. But 22 years of 1% increases is a heckuva lot better than if every government had increased them 6% during that time.
* Public employment, public education, public contracting — voters have twice demanded that state and local governments be prohibited from discriminating against, or granting preferential treatment to, any individual or group based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin. In other words, since 1998 thanks to voter approval of Initiative 200, government must admit students, hire public workers, and award government contracts without regard to which silly little box that person checks on the application.
* The state auditor is empowered to conduct performance audits of any state agency, program, or account and any local government agency, program, or account to learn whether the taxpayers are getting the best bang for the buck possible. Thanks to Initiative 900, these audits are fully funded and put a bright spotlight on the effectiveness (or more likely ineffectiveness) of these government functions. It’s why we called Initiative 900 “the 900 pound gorilla”.
* The King County Council has 9 councilmembers, not 13, thanks to King County voters passing Initiative 18.
* Red-light ticketing cameras no longer exist in the cities we targeted with our initiatives in 2010 and 2011.
* Our 2/3-vote-of-the-legislature-
we sponsored and voters passed another 2/3 initiative and there weren’t any tax increases in 2011 and 2012. And then we passed another 2/3 initiative in 2012 and it received more votes than any initiative in Washington state history.
* Last year, thanks to our collective efforts, there weren’t any tax increases. That’s an extraordinary achievement because while Inslee has been in office (2013-2022), there were tax increases every single year EXCEPT LAST YEAR. That’s because we fought back:
* And yes, of course, we reached the pinnacle of achievement this year when thousands of heroes across Washington state worked their butts off and qualified all 6 of Jim Walsh’s common sense initiatives for the all-important Nov 2024 ballot.
This year, by working together, we will continue to make things better for our state and our nation.
Thanks to your prayers, your friendship, and your support, I’ve been able to keep fighting.
