Fighting for taxpayers for 27 years

The cartoonist thought this was a slam.

To me, it’s a badge of honor. 

During my 28 years as a conservative political activist, the Democrats in control of the Legislature have illustrated — through good times and bad — they have an insatiable lust for raising taxes.

For those 28 years, I’ve worked with all of you to fight back. 

This next session, our efforts will be needed more than ever.

On Tuesday, I went to a liberal political conference in Tacoma:

When the attendees applauded when Democrats repeatedly promised an income tax, it was clear I was once again the skunk at the party. 

 
Not just because of the stickers on my jacket, but because I was an in-person reminder that the people have the power to fight back.

For hours, I sat and listened to their presentations.

And at every one of them, Democrat legislators, lobbyists, and activists openly admitted they’re gonna go nuts next session especially when it comes to pushing for their Holy Grail:

A STATEWIDE INCOME TAX

We’ve been fighting against it for decades: 

That makes it absolutely ESSENTIAL that we SHOW UP for legislative hearings and testify against their bad bills (in person, by ZOOM, or in writing). And it’s super critical that we send emails to all 149 legislators telling them we oppose their bad bills.

As I’ve done for years, I’ll make that process very easy.

But I’m gonna need EVERYONE to help. 

During previous sessions, by showing up and fighting back, we saved the 1% property tax cap, beat back attacks on the initiative process, prevented a new wealth tax, pay-per-mile tax, higher property taxes, increases in the capital gains tax and the death tax, and so much more.

In recent years, I’ve come to realize this simple fact:

It takes a ton of hard work to stop a bad bill. But it’s a heck of a lot easier to stop a bad bill then it is to do an initiative to overturn it.

We must do everything we can to save our state from the Democrats’ insanity.

That’s all I’ve done for the past 28 years.

It’s the reason Bob Ferguson is working so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity.
