Last week, I let you know about all the harassment of folks collecting signatures for Brian Heywood’s 2 initiatives (1) No Boys in Girls Sports & (2) Restoring the Parents Rights Initiative.

That update was entitled: “Next time you see someone trying to stop petition signing for Brian’s 2 initiatives, tell ’em THANK YOU!”

I wrote that because in 28 years of doing initiatives, such thuggish attacks have always backfired.

But I didn’t know for sure with these initiatives.

I could only hope.

Then a few days ago, I got this text from a paid petitioner from Puyallup who I know:

I gotta admit, this was my immediate response:

“Obvious guess — looks like the blockers were really messing things up and so LGW wasn’t hitting their targets”

I’m so happy I was wrong. 

A few hours later, initiative superstar Brian Heywood posted this:

I was SOOOOOOOO relieved.

This is truly amazing — they started on September 22 and hit the halfway point in 21 days!?!?

That means Brian and his team of volunteers have until the end of December to collect the other half.

It’s now very obvious that the harassment of petitioners has backfired — every attack has only inspired volunteers to work harder and spurred voters to try even harder to find a petition to sign.

Congratulations to Brian and his hardworking team at Let’s Go Washington for all their efforts on our behalf.
