Several initiatives have been filed to restore the Parents Rights Initiative by repealing section 501 of House Bill 1296 and reinstating the law as it was originally written in Initiative 2081.

In other words, it wipes the slate clean and reverses the Democrats gutting of the original Parents Rights Initiative.

It would be as if Ferguson had vetoed HB 1296, rather than signing it:

If he’d have vetoed it, I would’ve been the one smiling here: 

But Ferguson ended up signing it, so a new initiative is necessary to bring back the Washington Parents’ Bill of Rights.

For months, the ACLU has been delaying the start date for any “Restore the Parents Rights Initiative” by filing what are called “ballot title challenges”.

To counter their delays, I’ve been filing my own challenges in order to secure earlier court dates to get this adjudicated as quickly as possible.

This Monday @ 3 pm in Olympia, the ACLU, the AG, and I are in court in Olympia arguing over initiative ballot titles. 

No matter how the judge rules on Monday, these delays will be over and petitions will no longer be blocked from being printed. 

I urge EVERYONE to watch it one way or another.

TO SEE IT IN PERSON: If at all possible, I urge you to join me in the courtroom — it’s this Mon, June 23, 3:00 am (I’ll be there at 2:30pm), Olympia, Thurston County Courthouse, 2000 Lakeridge Dr, Building 2, Judge Christine Schaller’s courtroom.

Judges act differently when the courtroom is packed so I hope to see you there.
