Because of the AG’s 12-year persecution of me and my family, I’ve had zero income for the past 4 years.

The AG has taken my house and drained all my bank accounts.

They imposed a $5.5 million fine.

They imposed a lifetime ban on all my future political activity.

But the AG’s case against me is fundamentally flawed. 

Fundamental Flaw #1: under longstanding state law, all campaign reporting is the legal responsibility of the treasurer.

Our PAC’s treasurer was Stan Long, a professional CPA, tax attorney, and former IRS investigator. He expertly handled the reporting for our initiative campaigns.

Nonetheless, the AG’s allegation against me was “failure to report.”

But I couldn’t report anything because I was legally prohibited from doing so — only the treasurer could. I never had access to campaign funds and was never a signer for any of the campaign’s bank accounts.

Which leads to Fundamental Flaw #2: the AG claimed I used campaign funds for personal use.

But that was impossible because I never had access to any of our campaign’s funds. I was never a signer on any of our bank accounts.

The AG didn’t like these inconvenient facts.

So they later modified their original complaint and manufactured a brand new interpretation of the law.

And it was weird.

They decided — without precedent — that I, Tim Eyman personally, was no longer a person — that I was instead a walking talking political committee who had to register with the government to exercise my free speech rights.  

And because I hadn’t registered, I had broken the law.

In the 50-year history of the Fair Campaign Practices Act, such an interpretation had never been attempted, let alone ruled valid.

But here’s what the AG said in court: 

“Mr. Eyman is absolutely and undeniably a PAC … he is not registered as a PAC which is a violation of the law.”  

Ferguson has spent more taxpayer money going after me and my family than all other cases in the last 12 years COMBINED!

But thanks to great friends like you, I’m still here and I’m still fighting.

Please … I urge you to help me get the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional ruling overturned so we can make sure this never happens to anyone else ever again.
