Why?
Because they DON’T WORK!!!!

Rent control bills, like HB 2114, are beyond stupid. Rent control has never worked and never will. The laws of basic economics don’t disappear by calling it “rent stabilization” — you’re just putting different colored lipstick on the same ugly pig. Don’t pass any rent control bills, including HB 2114

NEVER FORGET: these properties DO NOT belong to the government — they are OWNED by private citizens. And they enter into voluntary agreements. The Legislature has no right to interfere with these agreements because it’s not the government’s property. The government should not be able to give it away for free (like Inslee did for 3 years) and the government should never tell property owners how much to charge. You’re not telling Amazon or Microsoft to give away their products. You’re not telling them how much to charge – you’re only doing that to property owners. Don’t pass any rent control bills, including HB 2114.
