Thanks to your hundreds of emails to legislators over the past couple of weeks, we helped kill off that horrible rent control bill in the state senate.

This is a HUGE victory.

The fight continues in the house so be ready to unload on legislators again, but for now, let’s savor this accomplishment.

We had facts and math and emotion on our side — rent control advocates only had emotion.

Rent control has NEVER WORKED AND NEVER WILL because it only makes a bad situation worse.

“rent stabilization” is same as “rent control” – it’s just a different color lipstick smeared on the same ugly pig.

The laws of supply and demand apply to housing just like all products in the marketplace do.

As one anti-rent-control legislator said: “The math is brutal.”

Yes, it sure is.

Congratulations to all of us for making an impact and stopping this horrible policy (so far). 

REPORT ON YESTERDAY’S RALLY IN OLYMPIA:

Unfortunately this wasn’t a “Pano” pic so it doesn’t show all the great people on the left and right of us. 

Hundreds of regular citizens descended on the Capitol steps yesterday to voice their anger and frustration with the Democrats for refusing to hold public hearings on Jim Walsh’s 6 initiatives.

The state Constitution requires that Jim’s initiatives “shall take precedence” over all other actions by the Legislature.

The D’s are violating that constitutional mandate.

Great speakers, great turnout, great people, great message. So many friends:

When the rally was over, I had to literally sprint to get to a committee hearing in time to testify against a really bad bill.
