Democrats are trying to shut down ANY AND ALL opposition.

They took away the right to referendum (with emergency clauses), they took away the 2/3 vote requirement for the Legislature to raise taxes, they blocked our vote for $30 Tabs, they’re moving full steam ahead to repeal Tax Advisory Votes (so it’ll be a secret how legislators’ voted on tax bills, how much those tax increases will cost, and the people will not be allowed to express an opinion on those tax increases).

And now with ESSB 5284 they want to stop businesses — you know, those places that employ people — from funding candidates, citizen initiatives, lobbyists, independent expenditures, or anything political at the federal, state, and local level.

Remember in 2010 when Bill Gates Sr. pushed that statewide income tax initiative?

The business community rallied against it and helped the voters defeat it.

Remember when Seattle Socialist Kshama Sawant targeted Amazon with a huge “per employee” tax?

And the business community helped the people fight back against it.

Imagine if businesses were BANNED from helping the people in ANY political battles.

That’s what this new bill does.

That’s why the Democrats are pushing to block political participation by businesses.

And this LEAKED LEGAL MEMO shows the Democrats’ own lawyers say it’s illegal.

Democrats will predictably respond: “We’re not banning all businesses from political participation. We will still ‘allow’ participation, but only if the business can PROVE it does not have more than 1% ‘foreign ownership.'”

Not surprisingly, the term “foreign ownership” is NOT clearly defined in the bill. So any business that doesn’t want to get financially rectal exam’d by the AG is gonna be rightly hesitant to get involved.

That is the Democrats’ mindset: they want to block any person, any business, anything that stands in the way of UNLIMITED POWER:

Everything the Democrats are doing is totally consistent with Bully Bob Ferguson’s obsession with imposing a lifetime ban on all my future political activity.

 

Last August, when the AG took my house and drained all my bank accounts (I was allowed to keep $1500), things for me and my family shifted from REALLY WANTING help to DESPERATELY NEEDING help.
