TODAY, THURS, NOV 21, 2PM, SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 600 4TH AVE.

SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL’S ILLEGAL INCOME TAX

448,158 voters signed petitions for Initiative 2111.

78% of house members (76-21) passed it.

76% of state senators (38-11) passed it.

This new law took effect on June 6, 2024.

It’s now codified into the RCW’s:

Did you notice this prohibition includes “any city”?

Well, the Seattle City Council hasn’t noticed.

Councilmembers are pushing to impose a new tax THAT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE IT RUNS COMPLETELY COUNTER TO RCW 1.90.100.

The full council is taking a vote today on their final budget.

The meeting starts today at 2pm.

I’ll be there to testify during the public comment period with a simple message: DON’T VIOLATE THE LAW BY IMPOSING THIS ILLEGAL TAX.

THE FIRST MEETING OF BOB FERGUSON’S “DOMESTIC VIOLENT EXTREMIST COMMISSION”

For years, Bob Ferguson has pushed to empower himself with this dangerous legislation.

Y’all probably remember it as House Bill 1333.

As you can see here, it didn’t pass the House or Senate and Inslee never signed it.

But that didn’t stop Bob Ferguson.

He got it inserted into this year’s final budget.

And so it’s being implemented even though HB 1333 never passed.

HIs first meeting is tomorrow morning in Seattle.
