Join me in telling Snohomish County politicians to not violate the 1% property tax cap. I make it easy. I’ll be testifying on this tomorrow morning.

Fighting for taxpayers for 27 years

Thanks to our initiative in 2001, state law only allows governments to raise property taxes 1% — anything higher requires voter approval.

The Snohomish County Executive — Democrat Dave Somers — is proposing to raise property taxes 8%.

8% is not 1%.

The County Council is having a public hearing on it tomorrow morning.

I’ll be there in-person to testify against it.

Please help amplify my voice by sending an email RIGHT NOW.

Join me in telling the 5 members of the Snohomish County Council to not raise property taxes AT ALL (and certainly not above the 1% cap).

Email them right now.

In the Subject line, copy and paste:
Snohomish County Council: 8% is not 1%. Don’t violate the 1% property tax cap! Ask voters’ permission if you want more.

In the body of the email, copy and paste this or write something like this (TELL ‘EM WHAT YOU THINK!):

The voters overwhelmingly passed Initiative 747 and for 23 years state and local governments have not been allowed to raise property taxes more than 1% per year. Anything higher requires voter permission. In 2007, the Democrat-dominated Legislature and Governor Gregoire reimposed the 1% cap. 1% means 1%. 8% is not 1%. It is beyond outrageous that you’re seriously considering voting to raise property taxes AT ALL. Taxpayers are struggling and yet you’re actually thinking about massively raising property taxes way above the 1% cap and doing it without asking voters permission. Don’t do it. It’s vicious, cruel, and disrespectful to the people you’re elected to represent. Vote no on Somers’ lawless proposal to raise property taxes AT ALL right now.

Send them your email today.

Is it any wonder why Bully Bob Ferguson is trying so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?

With the expert legal assistance of Richard Sanders, I am appealing the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional ruling because it’s so absurd:

* Lifetime ban on all future political activity?
* I’m no longer a person, I’m forever designated a ‘continuing political committee’?
* $5.5 million?
* Prohibiting me from earning money for the rest of my life?

I urge you to help me fight back against the AG’s abuse of power by donating to the Tim Eyman Legal Defense Fund RIGHT NOW!
