“Offensive”? Democrats shut me down for criticizing them for taking away our right to vote. Tell all 147 legislators: Tim wasn’t offensive, the bill is. Back me up by sending an email to all 147 legislators RIGHT NOW!

Over $54.864 billion in tax savings so far!
I’m fighting for taxpayers!
I trekked down to Olympia yesterday to testify against House Bill 1158.
That bill repeals tax advisory votes, a policy the voters have approved 3 times (2007, 2010, and 2012).
I sat in the committee room waiting my turn.
While there, I read the Seattle Times that reported the Democrats were “fast tracking” this bill to take away the people’s right to vote on tax increases.
So the Democrats’ top legislative priority is to stop voters from voting and hiding from the citizens how legislators’ voted on tax bills.
Wow.
Just wow.
I was ready to go.
As I sat there waiting, I saw on the overhanging screen a description of the bill: “Encouraging citizen participation by repealing tax advisory votes.”
I had prepared remarks — they matched what I wrote yesterday.
But when I saw those words “Encouraging citizen participation …” I became incensed.
So instead of reading my prepared remarks, I instead spoke from my heart.
You can watch my very brief remarks here (click on image to watch it):
If that doesn’t work, click here.
“Tim Eyman, Bellevue. This bill is truly Orwellian. The words in it are exactly the opposite of reality. The bill is about ‘encouraging citizen participation’ and that’s being done by removing the people’s right to vote. I don’t get that.”
I went on from there, passionately pointing out a handful of important points.
But then the Democrats said that my remarks were “getting offensive” and shut me down.
I was stunned.
They couldn’t handle / withstand / tolerate 2 minutes of fact-based criticism from a regular citizen for their efforts to take away the people’s right to vote and hide how legislators vote on tax bills.
I urge all of you to back me up by sending all 147 legislators an email RIGHT NOW telling them you find their censorship “offensive.” You find their thin-skin overreaction to criticism offensive. You find their anti-voting bill offensive. They will never know your reaction to their censorship unless you tell them.
Here’s the history on tax advisory votes:
Let’s send these censors a ton of email messages.
Send 2 separate emails: one to Senate and one to the House.
Copy and paste into the Subject line:
Democrats fast tracking House Bill 1158 & Senate Bill 5082 is offensive. Mr. Eyman taking 2 minutes to criticizing the Democrats for removing the people’s right to vote and hide how legislators vote on tax bills was not offensive — it was tame compared to what I would’ve said. Don’t take away the last voter-approved protection we have — I urge you to oppose HB 1158 and SB 5082.

What should you write in the body of your email?
Tell them their censorship is offensive. Their anti-voting bill is offensive. Their thin-skinned overreaction to criticism is offensive. Their top legislative priority to hide how they voted on tax bills is ridiculous. Tell them to oppose these horrible anti-voting bills (HB 1158 / SB 5082).

Is it any wonder that Bully Bob Ferguson is trying so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?
I really need your help to survive Bully Bob Ferguson’s investigation / litigation / persecution of me and my family. The only reason we’re still here is thanks to the heartfelt prayers and generous support from friends like you. Please donate to my legal defense fund today (see below).
Last August, when the AG took my house and drained all my bank accounts (I was allowed to keep $1500), things for me and my family shifted from REALLY WANTING help to DESPERATELY NEEDING it.
I urge you to help me survive this political persecution by donating to my legal defense fund so that Richard Sanders can get the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional ruling overturned so this never happens to anyone else.
