Perfect birthday gift: Jim Walsh qualifies 5 of his 6 common sense initiatives for 2024. One initiative remaining. TURN IN ALL YOU THE PETITIONS YOU GOT.

Yesterday I turned 58 — best birthday gift I could ever ask for.

For the initiative repealing Inslee’s Capital Gains Income Tax, Jim Walsh and his team needed to turn in 325K valid signatures.

The Secretary of State recommends 405K.

They turned in 419,699!!

That guarantees it’ll qualify and appear on the all-important Nov 2024 ballot.

Same thing for Jim’s initiative prohibiting state and local governments from imposing ANY kind of income tax even if the government tries to call it something else.

Needed 405K signatures.

Jim turned in 437,950!!

So that also guarantees that initiative qualifies and will appear on the all-important Nov 2024 ballot.

Glen Morgan’s sign above understates the number of times the voters have said no to income taxes.

It’s actually been 11 statewide public votes against an income tax.

That’s because after Inslee and the Democrats imposed the capital gains income tax in 2021, there was a tax advisory vote on it.

61% of voters overwhelmingly rejected the tax and clearly told the legislature to repeal it.

Inslee and the Democrats ignored that message and so Jim is back with these initiatives to kill off not just that 2021 capital gains income tax but any kind of income tax in the future (whether called an income tax, excise tax, or any other “creative” term to avoid the constitutional prohibition against income taxes in Washington state.

Even more good news.

Not only did they turn in the needed signatures for the 2 income tax initiatives but they turned in additional signatures for other initiatives too.

For the initiative repealing Inslee’s DISHONEST Cap & Trade Scheme, they turned in 10’s of thousands more, bringing the overall total to 457,218 signatures.

For the initiative requiring Parental Notification about their children’s health, they turned in tons more, bringing the overall total to 445,137.

And for the initiative allowing the police to chase criminals, they turned in 3 more boxes of petitions bringing its total to 424,237.

That only leaves this one:

There are literally thousands of petitions “in circulation” for this initiative — meaning petitions for 2124 are “out there” (sitting on store counters, stuffed in drawers, sitting in cars). Those petitions have voter signatures on them.

None of those signatures will count unless they’re turned into the Secretary of State.

And the only person who can turn them in is the initiative’s sponsor Jim Walsh.

Jim & his team are still scrambling to gather up and receive all partially filled & fully filled petitions that are “out there” and “in circulation.”
