Saturday’s “SUPER SIGNING” event in Tumwater was awesome. 

Brian Heywood and his team of volunteers with Let’s Go Washington did a fantastic job organizing it. 

Top priority was of course having folks sign the petitions and take blank petitions home. 

There was lots of that.

And master of ceremonies Brandi Kruse did a fantastic job promoting the event, getting the crowd amped up, and keeping the speakers safe. 

And Initiative Superstar Brian Heywood and others gave great speeches:

“There’s no government employee who can love your child better than you. So they shouldn’t be able to keep secrets from you about your child while they’re at school.”

Inspiring stuff.

But what made it a real success were the opponents.

These masked, dark clothed, obnoxious protesters made as much noise as possible by yelling and screaming into blow horns, setting off sirens, and banging on drums and buckets.

Why?

To try to stop people from hearing the speakers.

Think about that.

They’re showing that they believe the only way to win is to prevent these ideas from being heard.

If they thought the voters were on their side, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to prevent voters from signing petitions:

Events like Saturday show that there’s a whole lot more of us than there are of them. 

And it shows how weak they are.

Final thoughts on Saturday’s event — since I love initiative politics so much, I had a great time seeing old friends there:
