For weeks, we’ve been hitting legislators with compelling testimony and pounding legislators with emails highlighting the pure insanity of rent control.

RENT CONTROL DOESN’T WORK – RENT CONTROL ONLY REDUCES HOUSING AVAILABILITY AND AFFORDABILITY.

Calling it “rent stabilization” doesn’t change the laws of supply and demand.

The Seattle Times just reported that these destructive bills are on the ropes.

The Democrats are feeling the heat and starting to realize the inevitable catastrophe that would occur if their rent control bills were imposed.

I’m urging EVERYONE to send ONE MORE email to all 147 legislators — I’ve made it really easy:

They will INEVITABLY result in fewer housing options making housing even more unaffordable.

Housing is affected by the laws of supply and demand just like any other product or service.

Calling rent control something else doesn’t reduce its’ destructive impact.

The government isn’t telling Amazon and Microsoft to limit their products’ prices.

The government isn’t ordering QFC and Safeway to cap food prices.

The government isn’t ordering public employee unions to impose a ceiling on dues they charge.

These properties DO NOT belong to the government — they are OWNED by private citizens.

The government should not give it away for free (like Inslee did for 3 years) and the government should never tell property owners how much to charge. It’ll inevitably result in fewer housing availability and affordability.

Don’t pass any rent control bills, including HB 2114.
