SESSION RECAP: thanks to all of you, we successfully stopped a lot of bad bills. And incredibly, 3 of Jim Walsh’s impactful initiatives are now law. This year’s legislative session is now over (so we’re safe for another year). You all deserve gold medals for your efforts.

Thursday, March 7th was the last day of the legislative session.
So it’s over.
That means we’re safe for another year.
It’s important for all of us to take several victory laps – we stopped a lot of bad bills:
* Senate Bill 5770 which would’ve eliminated the 1% property tax cap passed by voters in 2001 and reenacted by the legislature in 2007. Nearly 8000 of you signed in opposed and I’m absolutely certain that was a huge contributing factor in its death.
* House Bill 2114 & Senate Bill 5961 which would’ve imposed catastrophic rent control which would’ve led to the total decimation of housing availability & affordability in our state. Democrats were itchin’ to pass that atomic bomb but your emails and testimony put it in the grave.
* House Bill 1932 which would’ve eliminated odd year elections. If there’s no odd year elections, then there’s no initiative process in odd years either. It was a super sneaky way for Democrats to take away our right to initiative — BUT TOGETHER, WE STOPPED IT.
* Thanks to all of you, we also stopped the bills that would’ve made it easier for the government to impose higher property taxes using bonds (lowering the vote threshold from 60% to 50%):
* We also successfully killed a bill that would’ve put ticketing cameras on our highways:
We stopped other bad bills too — I’m only listing the biggies.
All of you did an outstanding job answering my repeated calls to target these horrible bills.
I’m so proud of all of you for sending thousands of emails to legislators and for thousands of you providing passionate, compelling testimony.
WAYDA GO!!!!!
And you all made history: 3 of Jim Walsh’s conservative initiatives were passed into law:
AND
AND
I firmly believe that voters in November will pass into law Jim’s other initiatives (the initiative repealing Inslee’s Capital Gains Income Tax, the initiative ending Inslee’s Cap & Tax Scheme, and the initiative allowing workers to opt-out of Inslee’s Long-Term Health Scam).
All of our massive victories never would’ve happened if not for your hard work and support.
You all deserve gold medals for your efforts:
Is it any wonder why Bully Bob Ferguson is trying so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?
I urge you to help me fight back against the AG’s abuse of power by donating to the Tim Eyman Legal Defense Fund so that Richard Sanders can get this ridiculously unconstitutional ruling overturned.
