Like I wrote yesterday, the Democrats are a bunch of dirty dogs! 

In yesterday’s update, I let EVERYONE know what’s in their bill  (Here is the text for the Democrats’ Secret Income Tax – they’re desperately trying to hide it from the public but here it is!!)

I knew they were keeping it secret so we’d have less time to express our fury.

Well, I was right. 

The required process is ALL citizens are ALWAYS notified the week before (on the Friday before) which bills will get hearings the following week. 

With the Democrats’ Income Tax bill, citizens only learned LAST NIGHT that the hearing is THIS FRIDAY.

I hate the Democrats’ Income Tax bill.

The 2024 Legislature overwhelmingly passed Initiative 2111 and it EXPLICITLY prohibits the state from taxing ANYONE on their personal income and that is EXACTLY what this bill does.

So you’re violating the very law that you, yourselves, created.

It’s infuriating.

The courts have consistently ruled that income is property and so the only income tax allowed is one that is uniform — this one is not.  

And everyone knows that once you impose an income tax on some of us you will eventually impose on all of us.

But what’s the biggest reason I hate it so much?

Because it takes money from people who EARNED it and gives it to people who didn’t.

The Democrats Income Tax bill pits citizens against one another, instilling jealousy and envy and even hate.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods is the 10th Commandment (Exodus 20.17, Deuteronomy 5:21) and urges individuals to find fulfillment within their own lives rather than longing for what belongs to others.

It also serves as a reminder of the dangers of envy and greed. We need less of that, not more, which is what these bills do.

For all these reasons and more, REJECT SB 6346 and HB 2724 because an income tax will hurt our state and its’ citizens.
