I was recently at a Super Signer Rally in Issaquah.

It was sponsored by initiative king Brian Heywood (LetsGoWashington) and superstar podcaster Brandi Kruse (unDivided w/ Brandi Kruse).

While I was there, I finally had the chance to thank Brandi in-person for publicizing and promoting the heck out of my peaceful protest standing behind Ferguson when he signed the bill gutting the Parents Rights Initiative.

I let her know that thanks to her, I continue to receive an incredible amount of positive feedback for it.

I get asked about it all the time.

So now, whenever I speak to a group, I talk about what happened that day.

The most significant part is when I thank “Saint” Brian Heywood for pushing an initiative that overturns what Ferguson did that day.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m very proud of my protest, standing up to Bob Ferguson by standing behind him and putting up with all the ridicule from the people in that room that day.

But what gave me strength was knowing I was there representing millions of citizens who believe as I do that parents have every right to know what’s happening to their kids while they’re at school. 

But as I said in the above video, my protest didn’t really “move the needle.”

But thanks to Brian Heywood, it’s now more than just symbolism.

Because he’s promoting and significantly financing the signature drive for Initiative 001 which erases the changes the Democrats made to the Parents Rights Initiative and restores it to what it was originally.

And for that, he deserves our thanks and appreciation.
