I reported on this this past Wednesday, but I wanted y’all to get another look at it.

Hope you will join me/us at tomorrow’s launch for Larry Jensen’s pro-2nd Amendment Initiative (Sun, May 21, 4-5pm,

Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Dr, Langley on Whidbey Island):

This kick-butt initiative was created and is being sponsored by Larry Jensen, a farmer and businessman from Mount Vernon and a big 2A enthusiast. He served on the board of the Washington State Farm Bureau for many years.

Way to go Larry!

Here’s the all-important ballot title (this is what the voters will see on the petition and what will appear on the ballot to vote on):

This is a very, very, very good description.

You can read the complete text of the initiative here (it also appears on the back of the petition: tinyurl.com/2078petition).

Like it says on Sunday’s promotional flyer (see above), the initiative is very focused — it simply exempts law-abiding citizens from these particular restrictions:

* the magazine ban;

* the assault weapons ban;

* Initiative 1639’s registry;

and

* any future legislative attack on the 2nd Amendment enacted after the initiative takes effect (Dec 5, 2024).

Larry’s initiative promotes a very simple message: these particular restrictions make no sense for law-abiding citizens defending themselves.

Criminals — those who aren’t allowed to possess firearms under state and federal law — will continue to be subject to these restrictions. But law-abiding citizens will not.

In other words, the government should use its limited resources to target criminals and leave law-abiding citizens alone.

The initiative’s website and social media groups and pages that’ll offer supporters the chance to donate and order petitions will be up and running in the next day or two (absolutely before the launch).

Many folks are already distributing the link to the official petition (tinyurl.com/2078Petition) so they can start collecting signatures now. To make copies, all you have to do is this: click on the petition’s link, download and save the PDF file on a thumb drive, and take it into a local copy store (Minuteman Press, Staples, Office Depot, FEDEX Kinkos, Sir Speedy, or others) and get copies made (must be printed double-sided, 11″x17″ — for fun, get them printed on color paper — orange, yellow, light blue, green — makes them look a lot cooler).

Check it out:

And obviously, there will be lots of petition copies at Sunday’s launch.

There’s also a really cool banner that’s already been designed (6 feet x 2 1/2 feet):

The political committee’s treasurer has already registered this ballot measure’s political committee (Law Abiding Citizens PAC) with the Public Disclosure Commission on May 12. Also included are the other 7 officers:

As for media inquiries / talk radio, contact Erik who was instrumental in setting up the launch (text or call his cell: 360-969-3971 or email him at: 2078inquiries@gmail.com).

What’s my role? None.

I’m just letting everyone know that this initiative effort is happening.

And at Sunday’s launch, I’ve been invited to talk about the process itself and answer questions about signature drives (I’m a proud graduate of the School of Hard Knocks ).

Here’s the basics: they’re gonna have 7 months — from now until Dec 30th — to collect and turn-in the required number of voter signatures: 400K (gulp!).  After they qualify, the initiative will be passed by voters on Nov 5, 2024.

Once again, I really hope you’ll join me/us tomorrow, Sun, May 21, 4-5pm, at the Deer Lagoon Grange (5142 Bayview Dr, Langley on Whidbey Island).

Is it any wonder that Bob Ferguson is trying so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?

I ask / urge / beg of you to donate to my legal defense fund.

Last August, when the AG took my home and drained all my bank accounts (I was allowed to keep $1500), things shifted from REALLY WANTING help to DESPERATELY NEEDING help.

I urge you to help me survive this political persecution by donating to my legal defense fund so that Richard Sanders can get the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional ruling overturned so this never happens to anyone else.
