Initiatives only succeed when power-hungry politicians ignore the will of the people.

There’s no greater example of that than Bob Ferguson and the Democrats ignoring the people’s MULTI-GENERATIONAL opposition to a statewide income tax. 

But they pushed for it anyway. 

And when, with just 2 days notice of a public hearing, 100K+ citizens registered their opposition to their income tax proposal, Democrats and their allies claimed that those citizens were “bots” …

… but they passed it in committee anyway. 

And when Republicans heroically debated — for 24 hours — the endless problems with this fatally flawed, unconstitutional new tax and the corrupted process the Democrats used … 

… Democrats passed it anyway.

For the bill signing, Bob Ferguson deployed legions of law enforcement, private security, and his own staff to block regular citizens who wanted to peacefully protest the bill from attending …

… but he signed it into law anyway.

We did EVERTHING we could to stop it.

But ultimately we didn’t.

And that, under normal circumstances, would’ve been the end of it.

But our side is blessed that Brian Heywood has the courage and conviction to have taken on the Herculean task of sponsoring and promoting his initiative that has given regular citizens the opportunity to fight back by signing petitions to qualify it for a public vote.  

And public support for it has far exceeded all expectations.

Opponents have tried to stop his initiatives by attacking him: 

THEIR STRATEGY: try to convince the voters that he’s a “bad guy” and that will convince the voters to vote no on his initiative(s).

There’s just one big problem with that approach: IT’S NEVER WORKED.

Voters don’t care who the initiative sponsor is, they care about what the initiative does.

Initiative 645 reestablishes the law, passed by citizen initiative in 2024, that prohibits state and local governments from imposing any kind of income tax, establishes that your income is your property, and repeals this particular income tax.

It shoves the camel’s nose out of the tent:
