Tax-loving newspaper rips me for ripping tax-hiking politicians.

When you’re an activist, the surest indicator that you’re being effective is when your opponents attack you.

They don’t waste their breath on ineffective activists.

For me, it’s like getting an A+ on my activist report card.

Because the goal of an activist is NOT to be well-liked or well-respected, it’s to shine a spotlight on a particular injustice.

You often don’t look good doing it.

Sometimes you look foolish.

But when your only priority is to be effective, how you look while doing it doesn’t matter in the least.

For 2 weeks, we’ve been putting a bright spotlight on Pasco politicians for raising taxes without the public knowing about it.

Sept 3: I urge EVERYONE to send an email to Pasco’s politicians.

Sept 11: Let’s slam Pasco Mayor & City Council for deciding to raise taxes at secret meeting without public input

Sept 15: PRAYERS PLEASE — I’m trekking to & from Pasco today to battle w/their politicians.

Sept 16: Watch SHORT VIDEO of me ripping Pasco politicians. 8 hours of driving to comment for 3 minutes. WORTH IT!

Sept 17: Pasco politicians are squealing like stuck pigs because we’re putting a bright spotlight on their secret tax-hiking scheme.

Sept 19:

After all that, Pasco’s politicians were reeling.

So they called the local newspaper and begged them for an editorial ripping me for ripping them.

They got one — a huge editorial in the most-read Sunday edition.

Check out their blaring headline:

First and foremost, I want to thank those politicians for asking for and getting this editorial published.

Because it creates even more public awareness.

Second, I just love this:

“Seattle’s Tim Eyman”

Ya, right.

Me and the Seattle crowd have always been SOOOO simpatico.

Unsurprisingly, their editorial was filled with lies, inaccuracies, and personal attacks.

But here’s the part that really stuck out to me:

“The anti-tax crusader drove over the Cascades this week to bully the Pasco City Council … He should have stayed home.”

Really?

When 72% of local voters approved our initiative making it ILLEGAL for local governments to impose higher car tabs, and their local elected officials disrespect that vote by ignoring it, it’s totally appropriate for ANYONE to lambaste them for it.

And that should certainly include someone who was born and raised in Yakima, moved to Pullman, then Kirkland, then Seattle, then Mukilteo, then Bellevue, and now Kirkland again.

As always, I welcome your feedback.

For 28 years, I’ve been fighting for our state and our nation.

Is it any wonder Bully Bob Ferguson is trying so hard to impose a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?

I urge you to help me survive this political persecution by donating to the Tim Eyman Legal Defense Fund so we can get the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional ruling overturned.

The only reason I’m still here and I’m still fighting is because of the prayers, love, and support of wonderful friends like you who’ve seen this gross injustice and abuse of power and are willing to help.

I love you all.

Onward!
