THIS IS A MONSTROUS THREAT TO HOME OWNERSHIP!!
Under House Bill 1334, state government and EVERY SINGLE county, city, port district, and EVERY OTHER local government will be empowered to TRIPLE how much each of them can INCREASE PROPERTY TAXES every year.
And the bill specifically removes the requirement — in effect for the past 24 years — that they ask the voters’ permission to do it (as they must under current law).
In other words, they’ll be able to do such YEARLY TRIPLING UNILATERALLY, without a vote of the people.
Because the cost of EVERYTHING has SKYROCKETED due to the Climate Commitment Act (Cap & Trade) as well as inflation and other factors, regular taxpayers are struggling EVEN WITH THE CURRENT PROTECTION that HB 1334 eliminates.
This Democrat bill is VICIOUS and UNMERCIFUL.
PLEASE HELP ME STOP IT BY DOING THESE 2 THINGS:

Everyone elected in Olympia can go f*ck themselves.
Looks like a lot of dems commenting here want their property taxes to triple! Amazing how much the Democrat party has changed from 23 years ago when dems like Christine Gregoire understood that 1% increase per year was sensible. Now liberal dems are on an all out money grab. Not to mention all the other crazy censorship, gun insurance, claiming parents don’t have a right to know if the state/school has started psychological or medical treatment on their child, the list goes on…. 2025 legislature is a bunch of out of control radical leftists.

tell me something whatever happened to all the lottery money that was supposed to go for schools and roads, and we’re still paying taxes on roads and School -1981-2. where is all that MONEY. Going. in the General fund. no way.
